Worship & The Arts
Worship Team
The worship team of New Life Providence Church consists of a united, multi-ethnic group of believers who desire to use their gifts and talents through singing and/or playing instruments. These worshippers have devoted their lives to leading people into God’s presence. Our goal is to present excellence in our worship music. Excellence starts with our leaders and is modeled by every member of NLP’s worship team ministry.
New Life Providence’s worship team consists of these musical units:
Vocalists
Our vocal team consists of frontline singers, song leaders, and worship leaders. They represent various musical backgrounds. Those interested in singing should contact Clem or come out to choir rehearsals on Thursdays, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Rehearsals are held at both campuses; plan to attend the one where you worship on the weekend. Musicians
The musician team is a group of talented, skilled men and women who have made a commitment to use their abilities for God’s service. This group includes keyboard players, bassists, guitarists, drummers, percussionists, and other instrumentalists. Members should be able to read chord charts. Qualified and interested persons may speak with Clem to arrange an audition. This group plays for the gospel choir and praise and worship vocalists at weekend worship services. Required rehearsals are held every Thursday, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. at both campuses.
Media/Audio Team
As the Providence ministry grows and develops, we have a wide variety of needs in media/audio. Media Shout and ProPresenter are our ways of presenting words, graphics, and videos for our various services and special productions. This media area has many openings and regular training sessions. No experience necessary.
We also need individuals to assist with media/light board, all aspects of video announcements from writing to video shoots to editing, live camera crew, camera switchboard, and sound technicians. We will train you for these positions.
Special Music
These individuals provide ministry as soloists or special guests at various events and weekend worship services. If you are a singer, instrumentalist, or in a small group and would like to minister, you can contact Clem directly at 757.227.6930.
Performing Arts
Performing Arts at New Life Providence consists of a multi-ethnic group of talented individuals who are anointed in the area of arts and expression. This team consists of:
Dance
Male and female dancers with a background in ballet, tap dance, hip-hop, street, urban, classical, and Latin make up the dance team. Whether you are a professional dancer or a beginner, the dance team welcomes you! For more information, contact Ashlea Lusher at 757.227.6930.
